Mastermind Legion and Mercenaries - Concept Art

After completing Divine Legion set, we wanted to be able to add units in any order, without sticking to certain thematics, which was inevitable with Legion releases. That's why we decided to have some units that can only be picked when you play Mastermind (All-Legion shuffle mode). This way, we could either use the thematics we usually have (eg. Grove) or add new thematics without a problem.

Mastermind insignia; it's a "race" where you get a set of mixed legion units, so I focused on using gray as its main color to speak neutrality and tried to visualize many powers coming together.

Every single game starts with an army of Crabs (wave 1 creep), it deserved an update. I picked a cute and friendly direction since this is the weakest enemy of the game.

Concept/Mesh/texture by me. We could really use a summoner mercenary but didn't have time to rig and animate, so we borrowed existing assets with a new mesh.

Witch is using Shaman rig/animation and Froggo uses Hopper's rig/animation. After completing the mesh I transferred the rig and skinned it to the joints. Me learning to rig/skin honestly saved us so much work!

Our stationary unit no.2! A new Mech (sci-fi legion) unit was going to be a good addition to the roster. It's an advanced unit since its attack speed and defense vary depending on the distance of the target. End result ended up looking a bit different.

We could really use a unit that heals by sacrificing its own HP, so I went with a Seahorse theme given their sacrificial nature. Ranged unit with an occasional heal pod.

We needed a long-range DPS mercenary and I already wanted a female unit since all our mercenaries  were monsters at the moment.

It could have been a sci-fi theme but I felt like Steampunk could be a much more interesting addition to the world. I used Reaper to edit steampunky SFX for the cannon.

We didn't have a seductress trope yet, so I really wanted to add some demons with the theme of original sins. I was modeling this but had to leave the studio around this point.

I wanted a cultist who can pick either Sloth or Wrath demon route for that game, and you can only upgrade to that form for the rest of the game. Sloth I believe became Slime Siren after I left the studio. I kept the coffin idea for a different unit.

Iron Maiden idea was drawn from the medieval torture device (also DAE Shaman King?) This unit was theoretically a very simple unit to animate and share the rig. End result has some color changes to make it look more different.

As the gameplay was changing I had to change the concept a bit. For the Legions (not creatures or mercenaries), Back views are the most important silhouette bc that's the angle the player sees 90% of the time.
